Cute Baby Pictures

Usually for Thanksgiving we're cruisin it up somewhere fun, but this year we decided to have a baby! We were jealous of all our Living Scriptures friends all warm and tan, but having little Hailee was so much fun! We got to go to Kanab for Thanksgiving and had a great time, Lance's sister is a photographer and took tons of cute pictures of Hailee, thanks Michelle! So here are a few . . .

This is Hailee right after she was born on the top. Her brand new cousin Oriana is the other baby. They are just two weeks apart, can you believe they are cousins?! (Oriana is 1/2 Samoan)

Hailee Morgan Brown 8 pounds 3 inches 20.5 inches So here's the whole labor story:

We went in at 7:30 in the morning on November 19 to be induced. I was so nervous and excited. Here I am right before getting on that comfy hospital bed where I'd have a baby! It was weird knowing that I would be having a baby right there.

They gave me the iv with the stuff to make me go into labor, they just kept checking me every couple hours to make sure I was progressing. I progressed just really slowly. Before I went in I wanted to try to go as long as I could without an epidural just to see how bad it would be. The contractions started hurting at 2 and finally at 4 I gave in and got the epidural. I was so happy after that! It was the best decision, I don't know how you could do it without!!! Anyway at 11:15 I was finally ready to push and ended up having to push for two and a half hours! So it was a pretty long day, 18 hours! But she finally came at 1:41 in the morning, a strong and healthy baby.

It was so neat to have that sweet little girl. Everyone tells me that you just love them instantly, I always knew I would but it is amazing how you can just love a little baby so much. I just go into her room and watch her in her little crib and cry because I love her so much (and probably because I still have a lot of hormones) Anyway, it has been so much fun to have her in our family. I'll keep you updated with new pictures soon.

Due Date!

Today's my due date for the baby, and she's still not here! I thought I'd give you the latest news on the baby. It looks like she won't be here today, but who knows. I have an appointment for Tuesday the 18th to be induced in case she hasn't come by then. My family had a bet on when my baby and my sister's baby would be born (she's due in a couple weeks), my bet was this Friday so that's what I'm hoping for. I have been feeling good, my only problem that's just come in the last couple of weeks is that my feet have gotten fat! But hopefully they'll go back to normal some day. It seems crazy that some time in the next week, we'll have a new little baby! We're so excited and we have the house almost all set up, we just need to get the blue sailboats out of the baby room! We're naming her Hailee (at least that's what we're planning on) we just need to fight a little more over the spelling. Lance wants Haylee and I want Hailee. I finished my teaching job on Friday so it's nice just to be able to relax a little and finally get ready for the baby to come. Hopefully next time I write on here it will be to tell you I have a baby!

Finally an update!

I guess there's a lot that I haven't posted on here. But I'll try to update you on what we've been doing for the past three months.

We finished our last summer selling Living Scriptures in Dallas. It was fun to visit a new place but it was also fun to be back in Utah. I think I'm going to miss being able to just pack up and move to another state for a few months, it's been fun. We've been able to see a lot of the country together.

After driving 20 hours from Texas, we stopped at Lake Powell and camped over night and had fun tubing and boating with Lance's family. Don't worry, I never fell off, and the baby loved tubing.

Lance and Kelly almost got struck by lightning when they were cliff jumping, a huge storm came right after.

I had to put this picture in . . . I thought it was so funny. The boat ran out of gas and we had to have someone tow us in and we started going and I had no idea where Lance was, I finally looked behind the boat and he was just hanging on the back! He said his arms were sore after, what a baby! ha ha

We had a lot of car problems this summer: I'll just explain a few. First off Lance's transmission broke, we were deciding if we wanted to fix it or just buy a new car, we decided to just fix it since Lance didn't want to be car shopping during the summer when he's supposed to be working the hardest. So we fixed that for 3,000 dollars! So while the car was being fixed I had to walk to work (it was just like a 10 minute walk) in the Texas heat and humidity! The car took forever because they accidentally put in the wrong part. While he was waiting for his car to be fixed he used my sisters that she let me borrow for the summer. While he was driving her car he got in a wreck and totaled her car!!! We had to use a rental car after that, finally we got back Lance's car and were so happy to have it back. About a week later, on our way home to Utah a tire blew we were happy that it was just a tire and not anything huge. We made it to Kanab and were so happy to be done driving for a little bit. After Kanab, we were on our way back to Sandy and after driving so many miles from Texas the car started making these loud noises, a couple minutes later something flew out the bottom of the car and the car stopped working!! To make a long story short, we ended up getting a ride from my dad in his truck back to Sandy. The car would have needed a new engine and it wasn't worth it! It probably sounds like I'm whining about the car problems, but we just laugh about it now, it just seemed crazy that that much could happen in one summer! But it really did help me to be able to just laugh about problems and not let them ruin my life. (sorry that was so long!)

Here's the good news . . . We bought our first house! It's in Lehi close to Thanksgiving Point. We're so excited and we should be closing on it hopefully next week. I'll have to put up more pictures when we get some. Lance just barely started recruiting for Living Scriptures now and I've been teaching a 2nd grade class while the teacher is having health problems. It's been fun because it's like having my own class but I won't have to go back after I have the baby. I'm there till November 7, I'm due on the 12th so hopefully I won't go into labor while I'm teaching! The baby should come in a few weeks and we're so excited! I'll probably post a pregnant pic on here next time, but if you can imagine my stomach 5 times its normal size that's what it looks like, it's getting pretty big :)

Well, it's been a while since I've updated this, but we found out a month ago that we're having a girl! This picture is actually from when I was just 3 months pregnant (that's why there's still a little tail thingy, it's not a boy! ha ha) But this picture is my favorite one since it actually looks like a baby. The pictures we got when we found out we're having a girl aren't as clear. I was hoping for a girl, and I Lance was wanting a boy, but we're both so excited to have a girl, he'll be such a good dad! I don't know for sure what we'll name her, I like Haylee; Lance likes Raegan, so who knows!

Here's a picture of me with my belly, I swear two weeks ago it was about half the size! Lance gets so sick of me telling him to look how big my tummy is, but I just thinks it's so crazy how it can grow so big in just a week or so, but really a month ago, you couldn't even tell I was pregnant! This picture I am 25 weeks, so I still have a little while. I know it's not the cutest pic but you get the idea that my tummy is growing :)

We've done a lot of fun things this summer, I'm not the best at bringing my camera to activities, but this summer I've been pretty good, the only problem is that my batteries always die! So I'll have to get pictures from some of the others on our team and post them. We go back to Utah in a couple weeks. Who knows where we'll live, I was ready to buy a Lehi house that I looked at when I visited Utah a couple weeks ago, but Lance feels like we should make a more informed decision when we get back :( I have a job in a 6th grade class when I get back while the teacher is on maternity leave, it's perfect, because I was going to just substitute random classes but this will be like having my own class. I start with them a week after school starts and have them for a couple months, I don't know about 6th graders, but it should be fun!

Good Old Texas

I finally got a job out here, it's at a preschool/daycare called primrose and it's just like 2 minutes from our apartments. So I've been working there a lot. When I got the job, I was hoping to be working with more of the elementary aged kids, but since I'm only here for the summer I've been just going from class to class wherever they need me. Last time I was with 10 two year olds! AHHH! Today I was with the little babies so it wasn't as crazy. I was thinking I should be cherishing the time right now while I don't have to change diapers, but instead I got a job that I change other people's kids' diapers! Other than changing gross diapers, it's pretty fun (I figure I'll be pro at it by the time we have our baby) Oh ya, and in 2 weeks from today, so on June 23, we get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl! Any guesses? Maybe I'll give a prize for anyone who gets it right :)
Well anyway, here are some of the fun things we've been able to do in Texas so far.

This is Lance's team at a Ranger's baseball game (I think it was the Rangers), they're all doing pretty good so far.

This is an ugly picture of us, but anyway, this is us eating dinner at the riverwalk. We ate dinner right next to the river, it was so fun! We went to San Antonio for a couple days. While we were there we went to Schlitterbaun waterpark, supposedly the #1 in America, we didn't want to rent a locker to put a camera in so we just didn't bring it but I wish I would have! There was this one ride that Lance did where there was just a big wave and you just get on a boogie board and surf, it was so funny to watch!

Here's another bad and blurry picture, but you get the idea, it's the Alamo, you always see it in movies, but it was pretty cool to see in real life.

My attempt at a blog

Well, I’m finally doing a blog, I don’t really know how it works but we’ll see how it goes. After finishing student teaching and graduating, I finally have time for this. I guess I'll give an update on what we've been doing. I finished my student teaching at Canyon View Elementary in Salt Lake and loved it! So now I know for sure that I want to be an elementary teacher someday. Lance graduated in marketing and is now working full time for living scriptures, he loves his job. Now we're in Dallas for the summer doing living scriptures, I get bored in the apartment all day, so I've been scrapbooking, working out, and starting a blog :) I've been applying at some places so hopefully I'll get a job soon. That's about it in our lives right now.

I found out a couple months ago that I am pregnant! After taking three negative pregnancy tests, I woke up the next morning and asked Lance if I should take another, because I was sure I was pregnant, Lance said, "I think we already know our answer is no," so I took one anyway and it was positive. . . so I guess I already have "mother's intuition." My due date is November 13, we don't know yet if it's a boy or a girl, but we should be finding out in the next month or so.
